Couples Who Pray introduces a forty day prayer challenge. It challenges

couples to set aside five minutes a day to pray together. This book tells how

to get started and how to continue after the forty days. A questionnaire is provided for the couple to fill out. This is helpful for knowing where they are in their prayer life.

I really enjoyed the challenged that this book offered. The writing is smooth and easy to understand. For those who are married this a great boost to their prayer life. I would also highly recommend this to engaged couples. Inspiration is given with stories of how prayer changed the marriages of some famous names and not so famous. I do wish there was a bit more scripture.

The one major downfall was the cover. The cover is a bit boring. The large title letters reminded of a weight loss slogan. I think the cover could be a bit softer, more intimate like the inside message conveys. Maybe it could lose the bulletin look and use more blue for the background. I am not an artist but something is missing in the cover. I still would recommend this book. It would make a great wedding gift.

During this time Grace becomes friends with an outsider. Grace also is struggling with what might become of her life if her mother never returns. Will she be a "Maidel" all her life, taking care of her father and her siblings or will she marry?

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are true to life. This second book of the Seasons of Grace has a few unsuspecting twists. The ending leaves the reader with a surprise. I am so looking forward to the next book. Author Beverly Lewis knows how to keep her readers turning the pages. Her stories are thought provoking and inspiring.

Thicker Than Blood

Thicker than Blood by C.J. Darlington is a story about God's grace and forgiveness between two sisters. This novel is also Darlington's first published writing. Her writing style is so smooth. The setting is in a antique bookstore and later at a ranch. The suspense and emotions are beautiful and real. I so did not want to put this novel down. Darlington was able to accurately give details of the antique book world, due to antiquarian bookselling business.

The story of the sisters is the story of tenderness and acceptance. I related to the main character, Christy. I think many who read this will also relate to the characters. We all want to be loved and to feel needed.

I am so looking forward to reading her next book. I love a good suspense with a beautiful story of love and forgiveness.
